Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran, born March 10, 1949 is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a speaker as a consultant, columnist syndicated, speaker writer, author and television show host. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly after. Corcoran is among ABC's original Shark Tank investors. To date she has appeared on each seasons of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February, 2020. Her biggest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to an Irish Catholic couple of working class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence Corcoran's mother was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, the family relied upon deliveries of food that was free from a friendly local grocer. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who drank often and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran was struggling at school and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was a student at an area Catholic elementary school and started the high school system at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran graduated from Leonia High School with a degree in English after failing several courses during her freshman years.
